There's a very fine line between understanding and being involved. Photographers must get involved -- must have some feeling for the story before- hand -- and yet maintain objectivity. A photojournalist has to size up a situation immediately, and must forget himself. It isn't easy and it takes a special talent. I could never be a studio photographer.
