Today the photograph is being considered as a relative artifact of metaphoric concern, much in the same sense as automobile, comic strip or soup can. If we consider man’s visualizing activities in relation to the photographic picture, then we may readily understand how the nature of sequential concerns, of the multiple exposure, might be considered more naturalistic perceptually than our traditionally held concept of the straight photograph.
