We all have a sort of mask of expression. You say goodbye, you smile, you are scared. I try to take all these masks away and little by little subtract until you have something pure left. A kind of abandon, a kind of absence.
When I take a picture using window light, I always think about what a long trip the light is making to reach my subject.
Photography goes beyond the limits of reality and illusion. It brushes up against another life, another dimension, revealing not only what is there but what is not there.
There’s no logic in the realm of the imagination. It’s more about feelings, emotion and love. You can’t explain why you fell in love with someone because some emotions cannot be [described properly]. It’s the same for me with photography.
My studio is a place for chance, the dream, the imaginary to prevail. I give these forces as much space as I can.
Every photograph is like a moment of seductive love even if there is no intercourse.
